2022 թվականի հունիսի 25-ից ուժի մեջ են մտնում «ՀՀ քաղաքացիության մասին» օրենքում կատարված փոփոխություններն ու լրացումները, որոնց նպատակը քաղաքացիություն ստանալու և դադարեցնելու հետ կապված հարաբերություններում  մատուցվող ծառայությունների որակի բարելավումն է, այս ուղղությամբ իրականացվող վարչարարության պարզեցումն ու իրավակիրառ պրակտիկայում առաջացած խնդիրների լուծումը։ Մասնավորապես, նոր փոփոխությունները միտված են հետևյալ հարցերի կարգավորմանը՝

Legislative reforms

 

For developing the public relations and providing a legal framework in line with the challenges of the time in the sphere of issuance of RA citizen's passport some reforms have taken /in the law of Republic of Armenia "On RA citizen's passport" and in the RA Government Decision No. 821 of 25 December, 1998"/,  in 2022․

It is important to mention:

Apportunity to issue a passport to persons temporarily unconscious due to health condition  or who have temporarily or permanently lost the ability to move and (or) cognitive ability, based on the application of close relatives (father, mother, husband, child, sister, brother, grandmother, grandfather) and in case of inpatient treatment, based on the letter of the head of the medical institution.

As a result of the changes, passports of RA for male citizens up to 16 years, as well as 16 years old, are issued until their 19 years, and in case of reaching the age of 19 with a deferment period received from compulsory military service or with the period of medical re-examination defined by the law on ''Military service and the status of the serviceman''.

Documents submitted for obtaining a passport of the Republic of Armenia

For issuing passport to citizens of RA for the first time, the person needs to submit the following list of documents:

1. application form

2. the original and the photocopy of birth certificate

3. 2 color photos - 35 x 45 mm

4. one of the listed, depending on the case.

a. the original and the photocopy of parents' marriage certificate

b. the original and the photocopy of certificate of recognition of paternity

c. the original and the photocopy of certificate on being a single mother

d. the original and the photocopy of death certificate

e. the original and the photocopy of the decision of the court recognizing a person as missing or dead

5. receipt certifying payment of the state duty

6. military service registration certificate or military booklet and photocopies of their pages with military registration data or a certificate verifying the fact of military registration /conscripts/.

 

 

Change of passport

To change a passport citizen shall submit following documents:

1. application form

2. passport to be changed,

3. 2 color photos - 35 x 45 mm

4. receipt certifying payment of the state duty

5. Documents confirming the changes or inaccuracies;

6. a certificate verifying the fact of military registration at the relevant military commissariat /conscripts/.

 

Documenting with a new passport in case of passport loss

To get a new one instead of the lost passport the following documents must be submitted:

1. application form

2. 2 color photos - 35 x 45 mm

3. military service registration certificate or military service record card or a certificate verifying the fact of military registration /conscripts/

4. receipt certifying payment of the state duty.

 

If the required documents are in foreign language, the applicant also submits their certified Armenian translations performed in the manner prescribed by law.

The website will have trilingual information-with Armenian, English and Russian languages, equipped with modern technical solutions  and allows to search and get the necessary information about the functions, addresses, contact numbers,  services, legislation regulations of the legal field of the Passport and Visas department,  territorial passport services, etc.

In the website you can follow the process of the application for acquisition and termination of the citizenship of the Republic of Armenia.

I hope that  this website not anly will give the apportunity to provide constant communication with the public, to discuss, analyze submitted proposals, find new advanced solutions  for improving the quality of services provided, but also will raise public awareness, which will be more effective through regular updates, managing the primary task of organizing and improving the work of Passport and Visas department  properly.
